Wave Banks - ready to go! by yatz Wave Banks - ready to go! by yatz
2016 was a horrible year, and 2017 promised to be even worse - a promise that, a month in, it seems to be keeping in spades. And not too many distractions from the horribleness: I enjoyed last year's Captain America: Civil War, but there were problems too big to ignore, and Doctor Strange was pretty Meh - and so I'm a bit aprehensive about the coming Marvel movies (although I AM hopeful for Spider Man: Homecoming). The worst were the DC movies, which were HORRENDEOUS - and the future seems to be filled with Zach Snyder Doom & Gloom... Word out of the Wonder Woman shoot is not very encouraging, but, DAMN! I just need to have SOMETHING!! Why THE HELL can't the company that has given us so many great super-hero animation give us one good live-action flick??!

Anyway...

Here is my take* on our once and future wonderous amazon, as portrayed by my homey, the best, sexiest thing to come out of Israel since Golda Meir - Wave Banks!!!**

* The proportions might be a bit off; I based her physique on the snippets you see in the trailer - not a 100% sure this is how she'll look in the movie.
** Because I know how much trouble Americans have with Gal Gadot's name ("Gal! How the hell are you even suppoed to pronounce this?!") - and because they're having such a generaly shitty time at the moment - I translated the name. You're welcome!

I think Gal is more fitness model, rather than FBB, Yatz. She's a clothes horse ;) It'd be nice if she actually had a more Amazonian figure, she's a bit on the skinny side to be Diana ;p

Well, she WAS a fitness instructor in the army... Who knows: maybe, if not for all those stupid beauty pageants and modeling gigs getting in the way...

Well, not everyone appreciates some muscle on a hot babe. They much prefer chopsticks for arms...

;) I agree with you- I might not be up to dating a girl with skin like naugahyde(Fbb's), deep voices due to steroid use and man faces, but they certainly look great and are fun to draw!

Great job on Gal!  I made a point of learning how to pronouce her name, since as far as I know she's the only True Amazon to hit the silver screen.  And I'm excited to see her standalone WW movie!  In my opinion, she was the best thing about "Batman V. Superman" & had the best line (which is my signature, of course!)

I haven't caught up on my superhero movies, yet (Spiderman doesn't count.  When you make a googleplex of Spiderman movies, that means eventually I won't bother with them).

I have watched all the DC cartoons available on Netflix, however.  More recently I watched Marvel's "Jessica Jones (phenomemal!), "Luke Cage (awesome!) & "DC's Legends Of Tomorrow".  Currently I'm watching s.2 of "Arrow".  After I finish "Arrow" I'll move on to "The Flash".

Wonder Woman, you go, girl!  :D

Season 2 of Arrow was very enjoyable - but after that it went downhill for me, as it seemed like everybody was getting to be a super-duper ninja, and it also started meandering... Jessica Jones was fantastic; Luke Cage started off good to great, but than they had a not-so-very important twist that I'm nevertheless mad about to this day. If you haven't seen Daredevil, definitely watch; first season was an A throughout, second season I was much less happy with (the Punisher storyline was OK but they phased it in and out. the Elektra story didn't work for me, the villians were a big, dumb black-clad meh, and the great dynamic of the law office trio was thrown out of the wnindow); still - good stuff, way better than the DC shows on CW.

I haven't bothered seeing the second Amazing SM movie, but after the preview in Civil War I'm actually looking forward to it. Oh, and Logan looks like it might actually be watchable...!

I don't know what the twist was in Luke Cage.  I haven't read his comics.  But I liked his tv show.

I'll add Daredevil to my list, then.

I forgot to mention Agents of Shield.  In my opinion, this is a great, well-written show.  I hear Joss Whedon in the dialogue (which is a good thing, since "Buffy" is my favorite tv show).

I recall the Spiderman in Civil War was pretty cool!  :)

Found myself nodding all the way through that.  Maybe a smile tugging at the corners of the mouth here and there too.  And definitely some nods.  Doctor Strange was definitely meh.  But DC movies have been a train wreck.  Suicide Squad....or as I call it....."A Bunch of Characters You Don't Really Care About Take A Long, Slow Walk Through Deserted Streets" (they fold me it wouldn't fit on the marquee) was extremely disappointing, even the extended cut.  And now bad word of mouth on Justice League, and my beloved Wonder Woman.  So sad.

But what isn't sad is your irreverent humour and artistic skills.  Both are much exceptional and much appreciated.

Thank you for the kind words! And I hope DC do manage to give us a pleasant surprise with that movie...!
